During Covid restrictions, Adoration with Exposition is Thursdays, 6-7 p.m.
The Blessed Sacrament Chapel and Daily Chapel are open for private prayer from 8:30 am - 8:30 pm daily, but are closed during daily Mass (now held in the sanctuary).
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
Adoration is the first attitude of man acknowledging that he is a creature before his Creator. It exalts the greatness of the Lord who made us and the almighty power of the Savior who sets us free from evil. Adoration is homage of the spirit to the "King of Glory," respectful silence in the presence of the "ever greater" God. Adoration of the thrice-holy and sovereign God of love blends with humility and gives assurance to our supplications. Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 2628
Understood simply, Eucharistic Adoration is adoring or honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ. In a deeper sense, it involves "the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us".
Our regularly scheduled Adoration is postponed during COVID-19. Normally, Adoration with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held every Tuesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and immediately following the 5:30 p.m. Mass from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is recited at 3 p.m.
In order to expand our Adoration with Exposition, we have an urgent need for volunteers to signup for a Holy Hour of Adoration; especially Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Participate in Eucharistic Adoration. Sign up for a weekly Holy Hour!
Click here! A weekly Holy Hour is spending one hour, at the same time every week, in the presence of Jesus, exposed in the monstrance on the altar.
When the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the monstrance on the altar, at least one person remains in His company, conversing, praying, reading, or meditating face-to-face with Christ. Please prayerfully consider spending one hour a week with our Lord in the Daily Chapel at Holy Family.
In the words of St. John Paul II, “The worship of the Eucharist outside of the Mass is of inestimable value for the life of the Church….it is pleasant to spend time with him…and to feel the infinite love present in his heart….how can we not feel a renewed need to spend time in spiritual converse, in silent adoration, in heartfelt love before Christ present in the Most Holy Sacrament? How often, dear brother and sisters, have I experienced this, and drawn strength, consolation, and support!" (Ecclesia de Eucharistia, 25).
