Total Youth Ministry

What is Total Youth Ministry?

The mission of Total Youth Ministry is to provide for each young person, their parents and families countless opportunities for awakening—that is, brief moments in which one realizes the presence of the divine in the human experience.  Whether an individual comes longing for conversion or with a heart ready for the journey of discipleship, Total Youth Ministry aims to reach out to every person to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
St. Paul in his first letter to the Thessalonians states, “May the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all” (3:12).  Just such a message is rooted in the mission of Total Youth Ministry, as we move to boldly remind the young church and their families that more than a loving community of believers who share in common a specific tradition, the Roman Catholic Church at Holy Family of Nazareth is continually challenged to be a community whose love extends beyond its own members.  Constantly opening our doors to all, we welcome young people not because we hope they are Catholic; we do so because we are Catholic.

So what all is involved in T.Y.M.?

Utilizing the eight components of Youth Ministry set by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, (Catechesis, Advocacy, Community Life, Evangelization, Justice/Service (outreach), Leadership Development, Pastoral Care, and Prayer and Worship), Holy Family Total Youth Ministry continues to custom build our youth program based upon the needs of the youth and families it serves.  This is done through an array of activities, a few of which are:

  • Weekly T.Y.M. Nights
  • Bible studies and discussion groups
    • Vitals Signs
  • Celebrating together the Sacred Mass
  • Thursday DMC (Daily Mass Club)
  • Catholic Leadership Development
  • The A.M.O.S. Project
  • Mission Possible

  • Parish, Community and Global Service Project
