Sponsor Couple Program
YOUR PARISH COMMUNITY invites you to participate in a very special marriage preparation program: In Faithful Love: The Sponsor Couple Marriage Preparation Program.
What is it? When is it held?
The program consists of a series of preparation sessions held in the home of a married couple who is trained in marriage ministry. It provides a personal approach, addressing the unique needs and issues of the engaged couple in a one-on-one fashion. Sessions are scheduled at the convenience of both couples.
SESSIONS INCLUDE:
A preliminary session provides an inventory tool, FOCCUS, that facilitates open communication, understanding and study. FOCCUS helps identify areas or topics that the engaged couple wants or needs to talk about during their preparation for marriage. The couple’s FOCCUS results are used throughout the program sessions.
The four sessions that follow consist of reflective exercises, private couple sharing, and time for discussion with the Sponsor Couple. Note: If a additional major preparation program is used in combination with the Sponsor Program (i.e. Engaged Encounter Weekend) the number of sessions may vary.
MAJOR TOPICS:
Topics addressed are: lifestyle expectations, personality match, communications skills and conflict resolving, parenting and family planning, faith issues, marital sexuality, family backgrounds, finance and marriage covenant.
WHEN TO ATTEND:
At least six months before the wedding date is the appropriate time. It is important to register early to reserve space in the program, and to allow quality preparation time with out distractions of last minute wedding plans.
COST AND REGISTRATION:
The program fee of $125.00 covers registration and all materials. Complete the attached form and send with fee to:
