Children's Faith Formation

Holy Family Parish is the National Recipient of the 2005 Mustard Seed Award.  This award, presented by the National Association of Parish Catechetical Directors, of the National Catholic Educational Association, recognizes religious education programs that encourage and foster parental participation in faith formation.

OUR MISSION:
The Religious Education Program offers everyone at Holy Family the opportunity for faith and spiritual enrichment. The goal is to deepen our faith through catechesis and spiritual formation of both children and adults within a community atmosphere. We offer ongoing education though the following programs:

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES
Children 3 years old through 6th grade meet on Sunday mornings, from 10:15am to 11:45am, for the study of the Catholic faith and how to apply this faith to their daily lives.  

The Religious Education Office is located in the cafeteria and is staffed September thru May on Sunday mornings.  Fee for classes is  $45 per child, $35 for each additional child, $100 maximum per family, plus suppliesCalendar for the  2008-2009 school year.  Religious Education, TYM, and Christian Initiation Registration Form 2008-09.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD
This ministry makes it possible for young children (ages 4-8) to hear the message of the Sunday readings on their level.  They are dismissed from the 10:00am and 12:00pm masses and return to mass after the homily. 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
This annual summer event offers children the opportunity to come together for one week during the summer to celebrate as a community and to learn more about the Catholic faith. Mark your calendar for July 20-24, 2009.

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION CLASSES
Children who are preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation attend formation sessions with their parents.  Reconciliation and First Eucharist Family Class Schedule.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS WITH CHILDREN
Children who are not baptized, baptized in another faith tradition, or baptized in the Catholic faith but uncatechized, come together with their parents on Sunday mornings to study the Catholic faith and prepare to receive the sacraments.. For more information, please see the RCIA page.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Parent and Godparent preparation is required; Godparents must be practicing Catholics. Please call the parish office to register for classes.
